There are four main mobile network operators in the UK: EE, Vodafone, Three, and O2. They own the physical infrastructure that allows phones to connect to the internet and make calls. In addition, there are a number of smaller mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs). MVNOs do not own their own infrastructure, but instead lease space on the networks of the main operators.

For example, Sky Mobile uses O2's network to deliver their services. This means a Sky Mobile SIM should have the same signal strength as an O2 SIM in the same area.

If you've already received the device, you have 14 days after taking delivery to request a return - even if you've opened the packaging and switched it on. Some networks may opt to offer even longer evaluation periods to make sure you're fully satisfied with their wireless signal coverage.
